プリンター置き場　Printer Space

出窓にプリンターを置いていたら　妻に出窓はクリアーにして欲しいと　リクエストされました。　I placed the printer on the bay window, but my wife requested that I keep the bay window clear

リビングボードと本棚の間に　板を渡して　こんなふうに　してみました　OK出る事を祈ります。　　I placed a board between the living board and the bookshelf, and this is what I came up with. I hope it gets the OK.

端材を使用して高さ調整しました　棚板の端にスキャナーを載せました。　　I used scrap wood to adjust the height and placed the scanner at the edge of the shelf board.

Windows11でブルーレイディスクを観る　Watching Blu-ray Discs on Windows 11

最近　南極の展示を　居住している区役所で　行った時に準備したDVDの映像が映らない状況になりました。　　Recently, during an Antarctic exhibit held at the local ward office where I live, the DVD footage that was prepared failed to display.

オーロラの映像を　垂れ流しで　写しておきたかったのですが　全く映らない状態になりました。準備段階で写っていたので　安心していたのでショックでした。　　　I wanted to have the footage of the aurora playing continuously, but it didn’t display at all. Since it was working during the preparation stage, I felt assured, so it was a shock.　　　

その後色々調べてみると　Windows11ではDVDやBDのを　見るためのアプリが必要な事が判りました。　After doing some research, I found out that an app is required to watch DVDs and Blu-rays on Windows 11

それから私の認識不足から　外付けのプレイヤーでは専用のACアダプターによる　給電が必要にな物もあり　USB接続による電源では電力量が不足するらしいです。Amazonで正規品のアダプターを入手すると　電源不足による不安定な動作も無くなり　バッチリ動作するようになりました。

Due to my lack of awareness, I found out that some external players require a dedicated AC adapter for power supply, and USB connections may not provide sufficient power. After obtaining an official adapter from Amazon, the instability caused by power insufficiency was resolved, and it started working perfectly.

今回判った事は　DVDよりBDの方が　電力を沢山必要とするということです。　What I realized this time is that Blu-rays require more power than DVDs.

UPSバッテリーを交換

UPSのエラーが出始めて半年がたちました　そろそろバッテリーを交換しないといけません。

It’s been six months since the UPS started showing errors. It’s about time to replace the battery

分解のためにビスを外します 　I will remove the screws for disassembly.

バッテリー交換だけなら　底板を取り外せば作業出来るのですが　今回は点検もかねてそう分解をします

If it’s just a battery replacement, I can do the work by removing the bottom plate, but this time I will disassemble it for inspection as well.

四角い部分が　バッテリーです The square part is the battery.

バッテリ―を取り出します I will remove the battery.

バッテリーが膨張変形しています　つなぎ目が避けています

エラーが出たら早めの交換をしなければならない事が理解できます　　I understand that if an error occurs, the battery needs to be replaced promptly.

電解物質が噴き出た形跡です　固まりになってこびり付いていますThere are traces of electrolyte leakage, and it has solidified and stuck

こさぎ取って塗装します　　　I will scrape it off and paint it.

スプレーの残りで塗りました　色が合っていませんが見えない所なので良いことにします　　

I used the leftover spray paint. The color doesn’t match, but since it’s in an unseen area, I’ll let it be.

もう一箇所は鉄板を深さ0.5mm位　侵食していました　つづく

Another spot had the steel plate corrosion to a depth of about 0.5mm. To be continued.

アマゾンプライムでバッテリーが到着しました。The battery has arrived via Amazon Prime.

早速搭載します　I will install it immediately

UPSの下側から挿入します　　I will insert it from the bottom of the UPS.

底板を閉めて出来上がりです　Close the bottom plate, and it’s done.

机の下の定位置に収まりました。おわり

It is now in its designated spot under the desk. Finished.

2024クリスマスツリー　　2024 Christmas Tree”

クリスマスツリーをベランダに出します。I will put the Christmas tree on the balcony.

自作の足に立てます　　I will stand it on a homemade base.

この箱に幹と枝と飾りが入っています　　This box contains the trunk, branches, and decorations.

幹を立てて枝を広げて飾りをつけて　　　Set up the trunk, spread out the branches, and add the decorations.

イルミネーションライトを取付けて完成しました　　I installed the illumination lights and it’s finished.
