２２歳海保に入庁し、１年間京都に在る保安学校に行きました。I joined the Japan Coast Guard at the age of 22 and went to a safety school in Kyoto for a year.
この学校では、現場に配属されて困らない程度の基本動作（敬礼や作法）、モーターボートの免許、海技免許、逮捕術、鑑識学、酒の呑み方等を勉強し充実した日々を過ごしました。At this school, I spent many fulfilling days studying basic movements (salutes and etiquette), motorboat licenses, marine licenses, arrest techniques, forensic science, how to drink alcohol, etc. to the extent that I would not be in trouble when assigned to a work site. .
初任地は羽田航空基地、整備課に配属です。My first post was at Haneda Air Base, where I was assigned to the maintenance section.
初めに３人乗りのヘリコプターKH-4のライセンスを取りました。当時最小のヘリでしたが、この後１年程で退役になりました。First, I obtained a license for a three-seater helicopter, the KH-4. It was the smallest helicopter at the time, but it was retired about a year later.
次にベル２１２のライセンスを取り。当時救難の主力ヘリでした。Next, I got a Bell 212 license. It was the main rescue helicopter at the time.
最後にYS-１１のライセンスを取りました。当時最大の飛行機でした。Finally, I got the license for YS-11. It was the largest airplane at the time.
この写真は海難捜索で硫黄島に行った時の写真です。This photo was taken when I went to Iwo Jima to search for a marine accident.
ライセンスを取るために勉強をしているところです。17時に仕事が終わって、24時頃まで勉強で、職場に泊まり込みながらやっていました。土曜日に家に帰り日曜日に職場に行くという生活を３か月やりました。I’m currently studying to get my license. I finished work at 5pm and studied until around 10pm, staying overnight at my workplace. For three months, I went home on Saturday and went to work on Sunday.
この写真は南鳥島（マーカス）です。海難捜索で行った時に撮った写真です。当時気象庁、米国コーストガード、自衛隊が駐在していました。我々は気象庁の建物に宿泊させてもらいました。在任中私が行った中で一番遠い所です。
この後の勤務地は、本店、新潟支店と飛行機が無い所へ転勤、徐々に勤務意欲を無くすことになりました。This photo is Minamitorishima (Marcus). This is a photo taken when I went searching for a marine accident. At the time, the Japan Meteorological Agency, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Self-Defense Forces were stationed there. We stayed in the Japan Meteorological Agency building. This is the farthest place I’ve been to during my tenure. After this, I was transferred to the main office and the Niigata branch, where there were no flights, and I gradually lost my desire to work.

この後、文部科学省に出向して、南極に行くことになります。This is a photo of the unloading of a helicopter arriving by sea during the time of the main store. After this, I will be transferred to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and will go to Antarctica.
