北京到着
６月８日次の仕事で、北京入りしました。飛行時間は台湾と略同じの３時間３０分でした。 第一印象は、広々としている感じがします。空港からホテルまでの間の高速道路から見える景色 ゴチャゴチャした物が見えません。ホテルの周りは工業開発区で全体にユッタリとしていて 一番近いスーパーまで徒歩で１５分自転車が欲しいです。物価は缶ジュースが３元（４０円）、 スーパーで２０００円分くらいの気持ちで買ってレジに並ぶと８００円くらいでした。
On June 8th, I arrived in Beijing for my next job. The flight time was 3 hours and 30 minutes, about the same as Taiwan. First impression is that it feels spacious. The view from the highway between the airport and the hotel: I can’t see any clutter. The area around the hotel is in an industrial development zone, so it’s a cluttered area, so it’s a 15-minute walk to the nearest supermarket, so you’ll want to take a bicycle. The price was 3 yuan (40 yen) for a can of juice, and I thought it would cost 2,000 yen at the supermarket, but when I lined up at the cash register, it was only 800 yen.

Mr. Lee came to pick me up at the airport. A thermal power plant on the way? There was a building that looked like that.

今回はホテルではなく、アパートメントです。１ＬＤＫの間取り。
This time it’s not a hotel, but an apartment. 1LDK floor plan.
スーパーで買ってきた採れたてライチ、甘くて美味しい。
ここで困っている事は、フロントに片言でも良いから日本語が話せるスタッフが居ないことです。 かといって、英語も駄目みたいで、「お湯ください」「封書を出してください」等まったく、 通じないのです。
The problem here is that there is no staff at the front desk who can speak Japanese, even if it’s only in a few words. On the other hand, they don’t seem to be able to speak English, so I can’t understand things like “Please give me hot water” or “Please send me an envelope.”
ある日の夕食（６／１６）
今回の宿は、ホテルではなくてアパートメントでした。という訳で私の食生活を紹介したいと 思います。この日の夕飯のメニューは、高菜のピリ辛炒め、ソーセージ、サヤいんげんの煮物、 茄子の香味野菜和え、水餃子、味付け海苔、ご飯、紹興酒でした。
ちなみに、この宿は一泊３３０元（ ４３００円）です。
This time we stayed in an apartment, not a hotel. That’s why I would like to introduce you to my eating habits. The menu for dinner that day was spicy stir-fried mustard greens, sausage, boiled green beans, eggplant with seasoned vegetables, boiled dumplings, seasoned seaweed, rice, and Shaoxing wine. By the way, this inn costs 330 yuan (4,300 yen) per night.
食事風景、４人掛けの食卓も在るのですがテレビが見辛いのでソファーで食べます。
There is a dining table for four people, but it’s hard to watch TV, so I eat on the sofa.

長 城 （６／１９）
今日は北京到着後初めての外出です。行き先は俗称、万里の長城です。北京から一番近い 八達嶺長城（パーダーリンツァンチョン）という所に行きました。
Long Castle (6/19) Today is my first outing since arriving in Beijing. The destination is commonly known as the Great Wall of China. I went to a place called Badaling Great Wall, which is the closest to Beijing.
長城行のロープウェイに乗る前に手前に在る自然動物世界（サファリパーク）に行き、幸せのシンボル、 ホワイトタイガーを見ました。
Before getting on the ropeway, I went to the natural animal world (safari park) in the foreground and saw the symbol of happiness, the white tiger.
長城の往復はロープウェイを利用、楽チンでした。
仕事現場の作業員兼通訳の白さんに同行してもらい言葉の壁を克服？万里の壁も・・・
これを目の当たりにすると、人の力、執念、忠誠心はこうも偉大な建造物を作れるものなのか。無意識のうちに自分の手で一つ一つの石を撫でていました。
When you see this, you wonder how human strength, tenacity, and loyalty can create such great structures. Unconsciously, I was caressing each stone with my own hands.
天 安 門 と 故 宮 （６／２５）
今日は市内中心部に行ってきました、そう天安門です。天安門広場から、そのまま北に 歩くき故宮博物院にも行きました。
日本で言えば天安門広場は皇居前広場で、故宮は皇居です。
ホテルの近くからバスに乗って1時間、３元（４０円）で天安門の前門に到着。そこから ひたすら歩く歩く、とにかく広くて参ります。１０：３０～１６：３０まで徒歩の一日 （トホホの一日）でした。
Today I went to the city center, Tiananmen. From Tiananmen Square, we walked north to the Forbidden City Museum.
ここは、前門。バスを降りた所です。
写真の左下に白い箱のようなものが並んでいるのが有料トイレ。
一回、一元（１３円）です。
四角い建物は、毛主席記念堂です。前門と天安門の間に在ります。
遠くに見えるのが天安門です。
やっと天安門、ここをくぐって次に見えてくるのが故宮の入り口の？？門。
奮発して日本語音声ガイドをレンタルしました。
故宮に入ってからの長い事、早足で行くと音声ガイドが途中で切り替わってしますので、 ゆっくりと歩きます。
気が付くと昼過ぎていて腹ペコです。
ジュースを飲みながら、ふと目線の先にカップラーメンを売っているではないですか、助かった！
気を取り直し、もう一時間歩きました。
故宮の中は幾つもの門と壁に囲まれていて、迷路のようです。
外には堀があり、警備の兵隊さん？が行進していた。
往復のバスは、大分ガタが来ている、ギアチェンジは日本のバスの様にスムースではありません。
このタクシーは格安です。二人乗り。
これは、トロリーバス。道路の上の電線からパワーをもらう電気自動車。バスの屋根から 二本の角のようなものが見えるのがパンタグラフでしょ。
繋がったバスも有ります、後ろは引っ張られているだけです。
白バイは一寸パワー不足気味。
職業柄、電柱はチョット気になる所です。
地下通路で見かけた、男一楽房です。良い音が出ていました。
街 を 歩 い て （７月）
北京の街を見ての感想は、一言で言うと近代化に向けて進化中。感じた事を書き出してみました。
・レンガ作りの昔ながらの建物を彼方此方で壊していて、その跡にビルを建てる工事が盛んです。
・天気が良いと、ホコリッポイ。（多分黄砂のせい？）
・白タクが横行している。（違いは事故った時の保証の有る無しらしい）
・バスがボロっちーホテルから天安門まで、エアコン有りは６元、無しは３元。
・街の中には、＊＊門とか＊＊城 といった地名が多い。
・ホテルの前のレストランで、チャーハンとギョーザとスープを頼んだら、軽く３人前の量だった。 決して一人ではレストランに行かないこと。
When I look at the city of Beijing, my impression is that it is evolving towards modernization. I wrote down what I felt.
・Old-fashioned brick buildings are being demolished all over the place, and there is a lot of work being done to build new buildings in their place.
・When the weather is nice, it’s dusty. (Maybe because of the yellow sand?)
・White taxis are rampant. (The difference seems to be whether or not there is a warranty in case of an accident.)
・The bus from Borocchi Hotel to Tiananmen costs 6 yuan with air conditioning, 3 yuan without.
・There are many place names in the city, such as ＊＊gate and ＊＊castle.
・When I ordered fried rice, gyoza, and soup at the restaurant in front of the hotel, it was enough for 3 people. Never go to a restaurant alone.
